Beyonce For Entertainment Weekly

I've been an illustrator since 1987 and in all those years, one painting has garnered more awards and recognitions than all others.  Beyonce for Entertainment Weekly done at the end of 2016 was destined to be a beautiful piece.  The assignment was to paint Beyonce as a queen.  I had several different kind of queens but this one was approved to go to final.  I had just stopped teaching in Philadelphia so I had more time to work on pieces and I poured my energy into this piece and it paid off.  FInally, I am fully aware if you want to do a beautiful painting, paint beautiful people.  If you want people to also love a painting, paint someone people love.  Beyonce and her amazing ablum 'Lemonade' inspired this piece and it her album is a masterpiece.
